Infant Care and Education

In between care and cuddling, our teachers work on tummy time, motor skills, and sensory experiences. Every day, we are busy reading books and singing songs. Our youngest students are stimulated with a variety of music including children’s and classical music and are also introduced to sign language as early as six months. For sensory exploration, many objects and toys are rotated to experience new senses and promote brain development. You will receive information regarding your child through daily sheets, daily class notes posted in the class, password-protected website class page, face-to-face communication with your child’s teacher, student portfolios, family conferences and other assessments. Because every baby is unique, we follow feeding and napping schedules set by you. We also support cloth diapers, homemade infant foods and breast milk giving you the freedom to make these choices for your baby …

Toddler Care and Education

In this classroom, children are all working on the same schedule, eating school lunch, sleeping on cots and drinking from sippy cups. Having a set schedule, the teachers are able to provide blocks of activity time for active and cognitive learning. It is a year of busy learning everything from social skills to animal sounds to sign language and stable gross motor movements. At this age children begin to acquire a desire for independence. The teachers in the toddler program will provide a balance of activities geared toward independent choices and those which involve whole-class groupings. Our toddler program focuses on developing these new skills while fostering the childs need to do for themselves. The toddler daily schedule also includes a lot of physical exercise to increase their large motor skills. This includes our weekly yoga class which begins at …

Two-Year-Olds

The Two-Year-Old program is one in which the children continue to experience play-based learning in a very structure environment. They enjoy “hands on” activities which include, but are not limited to, sorting and counting activities, music and movement, various art and sensory experiences and many opportunities to explore literature, both with the teachers and independently. By reading and speaking with the children throughout the day, the children will continue to build language and factual learning skills needed for a successful transition into the preschool program. Our program provides weekly Spanish lessons beginning in the two-year-old room, which continues through the prekindergarten experience. Additionally, the Dolphins and Seaturtles enjoy a bigger, age-appropriate playground used only by the two-year-old classrooms. Toilet learning is a big kid step in your childs life and toilet learning at our center begins in our two-year-old classrooms. …

PreKindergarten

At 3 years old, the Whales are working every day on early literacy, early math, science and creative play. Structured activity times give children a balanced, play-based approached to their learning. Books, music, blocks, dramatic play and outdoor exploration are all prevalent in the lesson plans. These children are busy making lasting educational connections that will prepare them for the Sharks and Seahorses. Our Sharks classroom, 4 year olds, becomes very academic with structured activity times and group learning. These children are preparing for either the Seahorse classroom or Kindergarten depending on their birth dates. The Primary Educators are aware of the goals to reach for both of these destinations. Lesson plans will have many repetitive ideas within a theme to reinforce concepts through different learning styles. Children may explore space this week and build a grocery store in the …
